End of year thoughts, as we sit here in sunny Florida. Much better than dealing with the chill at home, I must say.

2012 has gone by way too quickly, I really can’t believe it. I also can’t believe it was scarely more than three years ago we first welcomed Annika to the world, obliterating our then lives. In a good way, of course – I can’t imagine life otherwise. Every year since then has been chock full of changes, and 2013 portends to be the same.

We had a death in the family, J’s cousin in India. She wasn’t much older than I was, a mother of three tragically killed in a car accident. It’s utterly devastating to the family, and with the new year coming shortly behind it, it’s a sharp reminder to focus on what’s important and to let go of things that aren’t. I hope in 2013 I continue to do that.
